The Making Of: DISCONNECTION

TOP: Initial pencil outline

MIDDLE: Filled in the outline using broken lines

BOTTOM: Filled in the eyes, brows, ears, and hair

The entire face was supposed to have lines, with the skin having fewer lines and the eyes or hair having more. After seeing the results in the bottom picture, I called t finished. The contrast between blank space and broken line was enough. Sometimes, you don’t have to force yourself to fill in all the empty spaces in your work, or in your life. Sometimes you just have to let them be.
